Terms of service
Last updated: 25 July 2026
These Terms of Service apply when you visit walterlamps.com or purchase from Walter Lamps.
By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these terms together with the Refund Policy and Privacy Policy.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
About Walter Lamps
Walter Lamps is an online retail business based in the United Kingdom.
Email: support@walterlamps.com
Postal address: 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom
Website: walterlamps.com
This postal address is for general business correspondence and is not a returns address. Return instructions will be provided after a return request is approved.
Products
I make reasonable efforts to ensure product descriptions, photographs, measurements and colours are accurate.
However, colours, brightness and appearance may vary slightly due to screen settings, lighting and the handmade or resin-based nature of certain products.
Small variations, bubbles, textures or differences in placement may occur where a product is handmade or individually finished. These do not automatically mean the product is faulty.
Product availability and specifications may be changed or discontinued without notice.
Orders
Placing an order is an offer to purchase the selected products.
An order is accepted when you receive confirmation that it has been accepted or dispatched. I may cancel or decline an order before acceptance where necessary, including because of:
- Incorrect pricing or product information
- Stock or supplier availability
- Payment or fraud concerns
- Delivery restrictions
- An obvious website error
If payment has already been collected for an order that cannot be accepted, it will be refunded.
Please check your delivery address and order details carefully before completing checkout.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout.
The total cost, including applicable shipping charges and taxes collected at checkout, will be shown before you place the order.
Payment must be successfully authorised before an order can be processed.
Walter Lamps does not directly store complete payment-card details. Payments are processed through Shopify and the available payment providers.
Delivery
Available delivery options, charges and estimated times are shown at checkout or on the Shipping Policy page.
Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise. Delays can occur because of carriers, customs, weather, peak periods or circumstances outside reasonable control.
I remain responsible for the goods until they are delivered to you, or to another person you have nominated to receive them. This differs only where you independently arrange a carrier that was not offered by Walter Lamps.
Please contact support@walterlamps.com if an order is significantly delayed, arrives damaged or appears to be lost.
Customs and import charges
International orders may be subject to customs duties, taxes or import charges imposed by the destination country.
Unless the checkout expressly states that these charges are included, the customer is responsible for paying them.
Walter Lamps does not control customs decisions or processing times.
Returns, cancellations and refunds
Returns, damaged items, cancellations and refunds are handled under the Refund Policy.
UK online customers generally have statutory cancellation rights for eligible goods, in addition to the 30-day returns policy offered by Walter Lamps.
Clearly personalised or custom-made goods may be excluded from change-of-mind cancellation rights where permitted by law.
Safe use
Products must be used only for their intended purpose and in accordance with any instructions supplied.
You must not:
- Modify electrical components or wiring
- Use damaged cables, plugs or power supplies
- Expose products to unsuitable heat, moisture or liquids
- Leave a product operating in unsafe conditions
- Use an incompatible power supply
Stop using a product and contact me if it appears damaged, overheats or behaves unexpectedly.
Nothing in this section removes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Website use
You may use the website only for lawful personal use.
You must not:
- Attempt to interfere with the website or checkout
- Introduce malware or harmful code
- Attempt unauthorised access to accounts or systems
- Scrape or copy substantial parts of the website
- Use the website for fraud or unlawful activity
- Infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights
Access may be restricted where misuse is suspected.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the Walter Lamps name, branding, website design, written content, original photographs and graphics belong to Walter Lamps or are used with permission.
You may not reproduce, sell, republish or commercially exploit this material without written permission.
Product references, themes or descriptive terms belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation unless explicitly stated.
Reviews and submitted content
When you voluntarily submit a review, photograph, video or other content, you confirm that:
- You created it or have permission to share it
- It is accurate and lawful
- It does not infringe another person’s rights
You grant Walter Lamps permission to display and use that content for operating and promoting the store. Personal details will not be intentionally published unless you have agreed to this.
Third-party services
The website uses Shopify and may use third-party services for payments, delivery, tracking, analytics, communications and other store functions.
Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
Walter Lamps is responsible for sales made through the store, not Shopify. Shopify provides the ecommerce platform but is not the seller of the products.
Errors and availability
Occasionally, the website may contain an incorrect price, description, availability status or other error.
Obvious errors may be corrected, and an affected order may be cancelled before acceptance. Where payment has already been taken, it will be refunded.
Liability
Walter Lamps does not exclude or restrict liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Breach of statutory consumer rights
- Defective products where liability cannot legally be excluded
Subject to those rights, Walter Lamps is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed or for business losses suffered by a customer purchasing mainly for commercial purposes.
Consumer contract terms must remain fair and transparent, and statutory rights cannot simply be removed through broad exclusions.
Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
The store is hosted by Shopify, which processes certain information required to operate the website, checkout and related services.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated to reflect changes to the store, services or legal requirements.
The version applying to your purchase will normally be the version published when you placed the order.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom or another country, you may also benefit from mandatory protections and may be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts available under applicable consumer law.
